![]() ![]() They’re not as boring as Cody they’re close. Also there’s two new heroes, Maki, who is Guy’s girlfriend’s sister and Carlos, who is a big gay. And who the hell thought putting Andore the WRESTLER in dungarees was a good idea? He’s not Andore the painter and decorator loves. But the designers really phoned it in with the sequel. Final Fight’s villains were in many ways better than the heroes – Sodom, Damnd, Rolento, Andore and Poison have appeared more than Guy, Haggar or Cody and rightly so. Every new character is generic, ugly and totally lacking in charm and personality. Other complaints aside it’s still a nice 2-player side scrolling beat ‘em up to play. And 2’s characters are even slightly smoother moving. Amongst the ocean of beat ‘em ups Final Fight remains a stand out title for its controls and hit detection and just generally how well it plays. And I say that’s a good thing because Final Fight played very well as still does. In fact you might think it’s the same thing with different sprites. The main thing is the game plays like Final Fight. ![]() But when you consider that most everything that was missing were basic beat ‘em up elements that’s nothing really noteworthy. Everything that was missing from the original is included here, even mad man Rolento, the boss who was chopped. So when it’s SNES only sequel, imaginatively titles Final Fight 2 was released it thankfully didn’t have much to live up to. Final Fight Guy did nothing to make things any better because, well, it didn’t make things any better – just swapped one character for another. The latter being the equivalent of making a non-violent fighting game. It did very silly things like cutting out well-liked characters and not being a 2-player game. So yeah the SNES version of Final Fight sucked. ![]()
